The Higalaay Street Parade and Float in Cagayan de Oro City on the 27th day of August 2023 was a vibrant celebration of culture and creativity. The streets came alive with colorful floats adorned with intricate designs, showcasing the rich heritage of the region. Different organizations and institutions prepared their respective representatives to dance, perform and showcase their offerings along with the parade route. infusing the atmosphere with energy and excitement. Attendees lined the streets, cheering and applauding, creating a sense of unity and community spirit.
Vineyard College highlighted its offerings especially in the Cruise Line Services program where students participated all throughout the street parade. The institution is the only school that offers the said program in the city and it expected to bring significant impact to the community as it reached out prospects who wanted to be in the cruise industry. Not only them, the said event also participated by the students of Vineyard College in the different programs in the Hospitality, Business, Education and Tourism. The faculty and staff of the institution also attended to make sure that the flow of the event was safe for all stakeholders and made sure that they attended all the physical needs of them like food and water.
Furthermore, the event provided a platform for every Kagay-anon, organization and institution to showcase their talents and offerings and to promote sense of togetherness and community. The Higalaay Street Parade and Float captivated the audiences with its diverse array of presentations. Beyond the festivities, the event also served as a reminder of the importance of preserving and celebrating cultural heritage, fostering pride and a sense of belonging among residents of Cagayan de Oro City.
